This was after the destruction of the Tu-22M3.
Ilya Yevlash, speaker of the AFU Air Force, said during a telethon that the Russian Federation has reduced aviation activity on the frontline in response to Ukraine’s successful strikes.
“After the last Tu-22M3 strategic aviation plane that we managed to shoot down, the Russians have slightly reduced activity in the waters of the Black and Azov seas. Also, after we managed to partially defuse their control points on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, the number of use of tactical aviation also decreased somewhat,” the Air Force speaker said.
However, Yevlash emphasized that despite the decrease in activity, the Russian Federation is using aviation on the frontline, carrying out missile strikes and attacks using corrected aerial bombs (CABs).
“Most of all it is on the frontline sections of the front – this is the north and east. The enemy is trying to hit our positions but hits peaceful towns as well. Usually, he uses them without approaching the front line closely, from a distance of 30-40 kilometers. In general, this bomb from the launch site can fly up to 80 kilometers deep into the territory,” he added.
The speaker also said that Russia deliberately struck the TV tower in Kharkiv, their goal was to disrupt communications in the city.
