The company was caught in a scandal because of cooperation with the occupiers.
It is noted that the company never gave specific reasons for the withdrawal of its business from the Russian Federation:
“In light of current events, Knauf Group has decided to abandon its business in Russia after more than 30 years of operation,” the company said in a press release.
Recently, investigators from ARD Monitor found out that Knauf supplied construction materials for a project in Mariupol by order of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Russian branch of the company employed up to 4 thousand employees. Now the business will be handed over to local managers.
