The Ministry of Culture, Information and Sports of Kyrgyzstan has decided to block the short video service TikTok on the territory of the country. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
According to the report, the basis for blocking TikTok was non-compliance with the requirements of the law “On measures to prevent harm to the health of children, their physical, intellectual, mental, spiritual and moral development.
“TikTok immerses the user in the virtual world of short clips, after watching them teenagers try to repeat certain clips, some of which are life-threatening. In addition, children’s psyche is still unstable, it is just forming and such content, causing addiction, negatively affects the emotional state of the younger generation”, – stated in the message.
The authorities said that all telecom operators have already sent letters to take measures to restrict access to the application.
TikTok is one of the most popular information resources among young people in Kyrgyzstan. According to the research and consulting company M-Vector, the service is used by 72% of the population.
