It is expected that the offensive of the occupiers will be in late spring or early summer, with Pokrovsk being a strategic target for the enemy. The possibility of advancing towards Chasovy Yar in the Donetsk region is not ruled out.
Budanov said the Russian offensive is expected to intensify in late spring and early summer, particularly in the Donbas.
“They (Russians – ed.) will move slightly towards Chasiv Yar. They will move towards the city of Pokrovsk, the strategic direction of Pokrovsk,” the head of the Ukrainian State Intelligence Service said.
Budanov believes that there will be no significant changes on the front before the start of the proposed offensive.
The head of the Ukrainian Security Service did not rule out a Ukrainian offensive this year, but he refused to discuss this issue, pointing out that the responsibility for planning and conducting military operations lies with the AFU General Staff.
The situation at Chasiv Yar:
Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Region is under the control of the AFU. At the same time, the fiercest fighting is taking place in the areas of Pervomayske and Vodyanoye, as well as east of Chasov Yar, where the enemy is trying to overcome the AFU defensive lines.

At the end of February 2024, Russian troops attempted an offensive on the line “Chasiv Yar – Khromovo – Bakhmut”. As a result, the occupants were forced to retreat due to significant losses of armored vehicles.
