The Belarusian authorities have started preparing the army for a possible war with “unfriendly countries,” Lukashenka said.
“Don’t believe anyone that we want to go to war. We are preparing for war, I’m speaking frankly about it. “If you want peace, prepare for war” – I didn’t come up with this. It’s very rightly said,” said Lukashenko during his trip to Hrodna voblast.
According to him, the relevant units of the Belarusian troops are trained in case of a military conflict. They are also supplied with various types of weapons and equipment necessary for combat operations.
Also today, it became known about the beginning of exercises with thero-defense forces in four districts of Belarus, including on the border with the EU.
“If someone howls from there [from unfriendly countries] and criticizes us, know: we are doing everything right. If they start praising us there, it’s trouble,” said Lukashenka.
The EU reacted to the statement of the Belarusian dictator.
“The European Union is not waging a war. So, of course, no one needs to fear the European Union – only those who are trying to undermine respect for international rules, democracy and human rights,” said European Commission Speaker Peter Stano at a briefing.
