Dmytro Kuleba has traveled to India and is trying to “draw it away from Moscow”, the Financial Times has reported.
The Ukrainian foreign minister appealed to New Delhi to support Ukraine and reconsider relations with Russia.
He expressed the view that India should be concerned about Russia’s deepening relations with China, given the border conflicts between India and China in the Himalayas.
Kuleba noted that expanding trade and technology ties with Ukraine would bring significant benefits to India and invited Indian companies to participate in Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction.
Ukraine is also seeking to resume trade with India by restoring agricultural exports and increasing imports of Indian goods, including heavy equipment.
Context: India has recently reduced its purchases of Russian oil due to fears of Western sanctions.
