Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is concerned about the likelihood of a new global conflict. He urged the country’s residents and political leadership to prepare for the worst development of events. Tusk emphasized the importance of increasing military spending in European countries. And noted that at least 2% of GDP should go to defense needs.

“We are living in the most critical moment after the Second World War. The next two years will decide everything,” Tusk said in an interview with European media.

At the same time, he noted that Poland spends 4% of GDP on defense. Such expenditures are related to a more difficult security situation compared to other EU countries, such as Spain or Italy.

In the context of growing tensions between Russia and NATO, it is noted that the direct threat of a Russian attack is minimal at the moment. At the same time, NATO intelligence warns of possible preparations for a conflict within the next decade. Earlier, the president of Finland said that there is a low probability of an attack on his country by Russia, thanks to its accession to the NATO bloc.
