During Biden’s State of the Union speech, Steve Nicuy started shouting the phrase “Remember Abbey Gate! US Marines!”
The man was referring to the incident that occurred at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport’s Abbey Gate on Aug. 26 2021 during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. The attack killed 13 American service members and around 170 Afghan civilians.
Biden made a short pause, but quickly continued. The man was escorted out of the congressional hall by security.
