The EU Commission has initiated proceedings against TikTok. This is due to the suspicion that the video platform does not fulfill its obligations to protect minors, rabbit hole effect and default privacy settings. This was reported by the EU Commissioner Thierry Breton.
The basis for the investigation was the EU Digital Services Act, which imposes strict requirements on online platforms.
