Already while Promes was playing in Russia, it became known that he was involved in smuggling a shipment of cocaine, which was arrested in the port of Antwerp. Dutch police tapped the footballer’s phone. He recently received residency in the UAE, thanks to which he was able to leave with Spartak for the winter training. Before that, he refused to leave Russia for fear of arrest and extradition.
