The new prime minister admitted that during the political campaign in Poland, there were topics with an “anti-Ukrainian slant”.
The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, has stated that the previous government ran a campaign focused on “anti-Ukrainian sentiments” during the election period. He promised that under his leadership there would be no hesitation in making important decisions regarding the events in Ukraine.
Tusk noted that the “Law and Justice” party had “played” on anti-Ukrainian themes in previous years, but emphasized that there would be no such precedents during his term in office. He said this in an interview with TVN24.
“Because when it comes to the war and our allegiance, as well as the entire Western world, towards Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia, there can be no doubts here,” Donald Tusk said.
In Tusk’s opinion, Russia may decide to attack one of the European countries in the next few years. He emphasized that from a strategic point of view, Europe is one of Russia’s potential targets. Tusk expressed fears that Russia would increase its military power, and when its superiority becomes evident, it could use force against Europe as well.
In this context, the Prime Minister, together with Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski prepared an appeal to NATO.
