The Ukrainian government has imposed sanctions on the US fast-food giant Subway, accusing it of being an «international sponsor of war.» The move comes after it was revealed that Subway has 550 restaurants in Russia.
Ukraine considers Subway’s presence in Russia as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and support for the Kremlin’s aggression. Further Ukrainian authorities were outraged that Subway, the world’s largest submarine sandwich chain, did not condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
