According to information published by the Danish media “Berlingske’’ citing representatives of the Defense Ministry, Denmark’s delivery of F-16 fighters to Ukraine will be delayed for six months.
It is reported that the necessary conditions for the acceptance and use of the promised F-16 fighters by Ukraine have not yet been fulfilled. Copenhagen planned to deliver the first six units before the beginning of 2024, but for unspecified reasons, delivery is expected only in the second quarter of the year.
The official statement states that the delivery schedule depends on various conditions, including the successful training of Ukrainian pilots and the availability of the necessary logistics and infrastructure to service fighters in Ukraine.
According to information published in “Berlingske”, six Ukrainian pilots are currently undergoing training on F-16 fighters in Denmark. In August, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen promised to send 19 such aircraft to Kyiv.
