Peace negotiations and grain corridor: Zelenskyy held a conversation with Erdogan

During the telephone conversation, Erdogan stressed the importance of restoring the grain corridor. Erdogan also stated that he actively supports diplomatic initiatives in this direction.

In addition, he noted that Turkey “is making considerable efforts to stop the violence in both Ukraine and Palestinian territories”. Erdogan confirmed Turkey’s readiness to mediate and organize peace negotiations. The President stressed the need to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine as soon as possible and said, “The doors for peace should always be open”.

The two countries’ presidents discussed plans for joint work on the Peace Formula. During the conversation, Zelensky reported on the upcoming Advisory Level Meeting in Davos in January and invited the representative of Turkey, to which Erdogan confirmed his country’s participation. Special attention was given by presidents to the paragraph in the Peace Formula that pertains to returning all prisoners and deportees.
