Among them are three men and one woman. This is reported by Iran International.

Iranian security services arrested them in November 2021, the human rights organisation HRANA reported. Aran Omari, Rahman Parkhaza, Vafa Hanafeh and Nasim Namazi were hanged in the morning of 29 december in the prison of Urmia city in northern Iran.

Context: Human rights activists believe the execution is Iran’s revenge for the killing of brigadier general Razi Mousavi, who was killed in a strike on Damascus on 25 December. Iranian authorities blamed Israel for his death. Capital punishment is not exceptional in Iran – in 2022, the totalitarian state executed 582 people, including 16 women and three teenagers.
