Truckers from Poland and Slovakia are blocking several border crossings with Ukraine.
NEXTA reports this with the link to Reuters.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravecki said that Poland would require the European Union to restore transit restrictions for Ukrainian truckers. This happened against the background of the blocking of several border crossings with Ukraine by Polish and Slovak truckers.
«We will very strongly and unequivocally demand the restoration of transport permits for Ukrainian drivers», – said Moravetsky.
Blocking of the Polish-Ukrainian Ukrainian Ukrainian
Since early November, Polish drivers have been blocking border crossings, demanding that the European Union restore the system, according to which Ukrainian companies and European truckers need permits to work in the block and enter Ukraine. The permits were revoked following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine the previous year. The blocking Polish drivers were also joined by Polish farmers and later Slovak truckers.
Their main concerns relate to the fact that Ukrainian colleagues offer lower prices for their services, as well as the transport of goods not only between the European Union and Ukraine but also within the EU itself.
