Teen allegedly killed by singer D4vd had abortion after sexual encounter, Los Angeles court hears in Celeste Rivas Hernandez murder case
The 21-year-old singer, whose legal name is David Burke, is accused of killing the girl after she threatened to expose their relationship and damage his lucrative career as a rising music star.
Lawyers for D4vd began showing glimpses into their defense strategy Thursday, pressing police on why they didn't conduct more DNA testing on items found in the singer's home and in his car that authorities said were used in the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Based on this hearing, the judge will decide whether there is enough evidence for D4VD's case to proceed to trial.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
